Soft Entropy

Soft Entropy (english)
As part of the Nuremberg Invite Series, the three musicians shared the stage for the very first time – an encounter that immediately proved to be far more than just an experiment. Within only a few days, this meeting gave rise not only to a distinctive band sound and a shared concert program, but also to a deep musical and personal connection. This bond, forged during an intense working week, now forms the foundation for the trio’s future.
Three voices, merging their different textures into a single sonic body.
Nicola’s voice – sometimes clear and direct, sometimes altered, looped, or filtered through effects – becomes an instrument in its own right, carrying text, sound, and atmosphere while shifting roles: at times as a melodic lead, at others as a harmonic or rhythmic element in the background.
Paul’s synthesizers create shimmering layers and pulsating textures from analog and modular sound palettes, constantly transforming and expanding the moment.
Jonas on drums combines acoustic presence with live electronics, samples, percussion, and sound “toys” – a hybrid instrument that weaves together acoustic and electronic energy into one inseparable whole.
From this interplay emerges a music in motion, difficult to pin down in categories: it blends experimental pop, ambient and improvised electronics surface from freely improvised passages, fragile melodies hover over driving rhythms, and club-like energy dissolves into almost chamber-like moments.
The trio’s music, shaped between Amsterdam and Nuremberg, moves fluidly between accessibility and experiment, between hypnotic repetition and organic flow – always carried by the palpable chemistry of three musicians who have found their own musical language and are now setting out to share it with the world.
